Restaurant Marketing: How Many Votes Are You Getting?

Restaurant Marketing: To run a succcessful restaurant and beat out the chains, you’ve got to be The Mayor—constantly collecting votes inside your restaurant and outside in the community. You’ve got to be winning guests over to get their vote for your restaurant being the best in town. And in order to get guests to vote for you, you’ve got to be stomping the grounds ... inside and outside your restaurant ... shaking hands ... networking ... talking to people about what you and your restaurant and your product stands for.

McDonald’s: Employees Wash Hands Every 30 Minutes

After spotting a number of crew members at a McDonald’s in Oak Island, NC, preparing breakfast sandwiches with their hands, I told the manager that this wasn’t right. She said, “They have to wash their hands every 30 minutes.” What about in between those 30 minutes, like wiping your nose? I guess that doesn’t count.

Restaurant Marketing: Make Better Iced Coffee Than Starbucks

Restaurant Marketing: Now you can make better and richer iced coffee, as opposed to the watery ones at Starbucks. Slashfood says to freeze coffee in an ice cube tray, then once frozen, add it to your new batch of coffee. It will taste richer than ever.

Restaurant Marketing: Paula Deen on Larry King’s CNN last nite talked among other things about service, her restaurant and her famous down-home Southern style cooking. Best comment of the show: “You’re only as good as the last meal you served.”  Taking this one step further—“You’re only as good as the last experience your guest had at your restaurant.”
